Singer Viboyo Arrested For Defaming M7, Kadaga

CID detectives have arrested Singer Moses Nsubuga alias Viboyo Oweyo on charges of offensive communication.

Viboyo is accused of recording and releasing a song abusing president Museveni, speaker Rebecca Kadaga and other top politicians in Government using obscene words.

Police alleges that Viboyo said he was tired of the leadership of a Rwandan national in the song he composed in the popular local language, Luganda.

Police said Viboyo called President Museveni buttocks which is illegal.

The singer in the song also accuses leaders of carrying murders of former police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi and Andrew Kayiira.

Vincent Ssekate, the CID spokesperson has confirmed his arrest.

“Viboyo is currently detained at Jinja Road on charges of offensive communication but we shall tell you when to take him to courts of law when the investigations are complete,” he said.

Police opened a General Enquiry File No. GEF 44/2017 and Uganda Communications Commission [UCC GEF] against Viboyo.

Viboyo is an Afrobeat, Reggae, Ragga, musician and producer. He is signed to Swangz Avenue.

Apparently, the singer has been composing songs and circulating information aimed at the person of President Museveni and his government.

He is known for songs like Ajooga, Desire, Appetizer, Mbikwata Mpola, Banyilila with Irene Ntale, Gimme di Title, Nyumbani with Goodlyfe Crew, Tukola, Sibawulila with Mun G, among others.
