In 2009, Simon Sserunkuma became the most expensive player in the Ugandan football league when he crossed from Victors FC to SC Villa.
It’s alleged the Jogoos forked out a record Ugx. 16 Million to sway the winger away from the now defunct former Ggaba and Jinja based club.
He spent four years at SC Villa where he failed to live up to his billing and then joined Vipers from where he was released to join Express at the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
He briefly moved to Tanzania’s Simba SC but a couple of months later, was back at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku where he has been playing till last season.
The flying winger, who enjoyed a brilliant season at the Red Eagles, has made a return to Villa Park on a two year deal.
“We are proud to announce the acquisition of Simon Sserunkuma,” Coach Wasswa Bbosa confirmed to SPY sport “He has penned a two year deal with the club,” he confirmed.
Bbosa also confirmed the club has completed the signing of defender Musa Mukasa, midfielder Mahad Kakooza (all from Express) and striker George Senkaaba from Kirinya Jinja SS.
The quartet joins goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi who joined the 16-time league champions on a three year deal from Agape.
