Kampala: Vipers Sports Club progressed to the final of the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup, which will be played on Sunday, 26th September at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

This followed a 2-0 victory in the opening semi-final against Police at the same venue, behind closed doors.

A goal in each half-forward Ceaser Manzoki gave the 2016 Stanbic Uganda Cup winners the deserved win.

Manzoki scored the opener after 20 minutes, capitalizing on a mistake by defender Hassan Muhammad.

He scored the second after 52 minutes, thanks to a well-laid pass by midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga.

Police had some lively moments with the introduction Brian Muruli Mayanja in the final stanza.

Midfielder and captain Tonny Mawejje had an effort kiss the woodwork as they pressed forward for a goal that never came.

Vipers’ substitute Dan Sserunkuma also had a chance missed when he had a shot off the cross bar.

Vipers will now wait for Thursday’s second semi-final between Express and Jinja based BUL to know their opponent in the final.

This will be Vipers’ fifth final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The final shall be played on Sunday, 26th September 2021 at the FUFA Technical center, Njeru.
