Stanbic Uganda Cup: SC Villa, Vipers Draw As KCCA takes on Synergy

By Samuel Opio

Giants SC Villa Jogoo and the Kitende based boys Vipers have been drawn to face off in the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda cup.

The draws were held this Wednesday morning at FUFA house in Mengo. This will be a renewed battle between Villa SC and Vipers on another front apart from the Uganda Premier League.

Villa will host the first leg, most likely at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankuluku where they have been playing their cup home games this campaign before heading to St Mary’s Kitende.

The Joogos have lost both league games to Vipers and the oldest cup competition in the land presents a chance to Wasswa Bbosa’s men to get their revenge and also a realistic chance of silverware this season.

“We look forward to playing this final. My dream is to beat Vipers and make the final. We are determined to feature in the last stage of the Stanbic Uganda cup,” Wasswa Bossa head coach SC Villa talking to the media shortly after the draw.

Meanwhile, Cup holders Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) will entertain the FUFA Big League side Synergy FC.
The second division side will host the first encounter in Masaka before paying the Kasasiro boys a visit at the StarTimes stadium.

The games will be played between May 23,27, 30 and 31 on a home and away game basis.
