Kampala: Samantha Mwesigye, a state attorney who recently narrated how she was sexually harassed by the deputy Solicitor general Christopher Gashirabake for over 10 years but failed to provide evidence, was a few months back scrapped off the payroll of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
After being scrapped off the payroll and not receiving salary for months, Mwesigye is currently job hunting and has posted her Curriculum Vitae on social media, on top of sending applications to various organisations, although none is responding to her plight.
Our ever very alert Spy who has been at the helm of this story has told this reporter that so far Samantha has sent 101 applications and CV to companies seeking job opportunities. “She is on the wall; I can tell you. She can hardly afford a pancake now as we talk, because her salary has been held for months and there seems to be no way through for her. In fact looks like her doors here at the ministry are not only closed but locked and keys thrown in Lake Victoria” our Spy at the ministry revealed.
Samantha is now walking Kampala streets looking for President Yoweri Museveni and the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebeca Kadaga to intervene.
Broke Samantha revealed that her life has been made miserable ever since she reported of her being sexually harassed. She revealed that she was sexually harassed for over 10 years thus running for help to the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Ruganda, Solicitor General, Minister of justice and constitutional affairs, Attorney General but not helped.
“All those top judiciary offices are held by men whom majority sleep with young girls to give them money and jobs so when it took my complaints there they are sat on my issues because they affect them all’ ’she narrated.
Samatha also added that some of male officers have turned their offices after working hours into brothels every evening to harass women because they fear to go to lodges and hotel due to lack of privacy.
She further said that it was unfair the Ministry of Public Service to delete her name from the payroll when she had already reported the matter seeking justice. A move which has left her financially bankrupt.
Samantha vowed to meet President Museveni and the Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to expose these juntas, corrupt officials under the judiciary. She also wants these top government honchos to help her so that public service can reconnect her to government payroll that she had been deleted from.
When she raised the matter, a four member-committee was set up which cleared Mr Gashirabake, of the sexual harassment accusations which saying that the committee was a male dominated which couldn’t give her justice.
She also claims that she didn’t abscond from work because she was already victimized by the circumstances at her work place.
