State House Anti Corruption Arrests Masaka H/Teacher For Causing Financial Loss To Gov’t

The State House Anti Corruption Unit, together with the Police this week arraigned Welishe Robert, the Head Teacher, Butale Church of Uganda Primary School before the Masaka Chief Magistrate Court on charges of providing false information.

He was remanded until 23/12/2024.

The Unit says between February and May 2024, the accused submitted wrong information about the pupil enrollment records to the Masaka City Education Officer. He informed the Masaka City Education Officer that, 423 UPE Students had been enrolled which was not true, an act he knew would cause financial loss to govt.

SH-ACU was established under Article 99(4) of the constitution of Uganda, which gives the President executive powers to either directly or indirectly perform his duties or through officers subordinate to him.

Launched on 10th December 2018, SH-ACU coordinates with all constitutionally mandated agencies to ensure a corruption-free country.
