State House Anti-Corruption Unit in liaison with Police has arrested and arraigned Kyagaba Charles a businessman before Chief Magistrates Court-Entebbe on charges of malicious damage to a house belonging to Kyomuhangi Margret found in Ziru Village, Wakiso district.

The court remanded Kyagaba until 19/09/2022.

It’s alleged that the accused and three others who are still at large, on 23rd April 2022 unlawfully destroyed Margret’s house structure claiming that she built it in his Kibanja.

The contested land belongs to Catholic Church and is occupied by bibanja owners including Margaret who bought it from Nayiga Queen Mary.

Kyagaba demolishing Margret’s house was claiming that it was given to him by Naiyiga before she sold it to Margret.

Asked how he acquired it from Naiyiga, Kyagaba claimed that she gave it to him thanking him for the assistance to chase away the illegal occupants from her land which was not true.

Meanwhile, Margret Kyomuhangi complained to Entebbe police station where she was not assisted because of the influence of Kyagaba who connived with the police officers, which forced her to take the complaint to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit which took over the inquiries of the files and Kyagaba was brought to court.

According to the investigations, it’s understood that the accused is involved in several land frauds using fraudulently obtained court documents.
