State House Anti Corruption Unit Arrests Mbale City Councillor For Selling Gov’t Land Worth Millions

State House Anti Corruption Unit working with Uganda Police have arrested Ismail Walujo, a councillor and secretary works at Mbale City Council.

Ismail is also a businessman in Mbale City.

According to the Unit, Walujo allegedly connived with the former Nakaloke T/C officials to sell govt land approximately 52 acres in Nakaloke.

It is further alleged that he has been bribing the District Education Officers to stop following up on the school by not sending teachers and resources there hence the collapse of the school.

”Investigations into the matter are still ongoing,” says the Unit.

The Unit adds that the land was subdivided into various plots with Walujo getting the biggest number of the plots.

”He also grabbed a govt school Umar & Yumbe P/S in Mbale City. It is alleged that the school has been made to collapse because he grabbed the area & set up a washing bay &restaurant,” adds the Unit.
