Do you remember Kampala Kingdom Hotel that was being built by Saudi Arabia based prince Ali Waheed apparently to host Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM) guests in 2007 that never was?
Ok,the man who doesn’t ‘eat’ his words, after all the ping pong that surrounded the land and the controversial shifting of the Shimon demonstration School, he settled the dust and took over from prince Ali Waheed.
City tycoon Dr.Sudhir Ruparelia promised his close Associates that if he takes over the failed project, he would inject in US$ 300 million (UGX 1 Trillion)and the complex would be up and running in record just two years! Ofcourse many couldn’t believe that money can somersault miles into smiles, they couldn’t believe him!
Well,here is the actual news; East Africa’s finest business tycoon’s Multibillion Kingdom Kampala shopping mall is on final stages of completion! Infact, Sudhir Ruparelia confirmed via a private chat with this reporter that the twelve floored multibillion, multipurpose complex will be launched cum September this year.
Sudhir revealed that the complex will house a 200 bedroom 4 Star Hotel, 40,000 square metre office space and a 16,000 square metre rentable space for leisure related kind of businesses.
“This is going to be a one stop centre complex where a customer comes and finds about 98% on their shopping list in one place, ample parking space, adequate security to people and property, eating places etc” said Sudhir on phone.
This reporter understands that Prince Ali Waheed, together with Abland Africa an International firm from south Africa, which were supposed to build a CHOGM hotel-Kingdom Hotel in 2007 but failed sold their interests to Sudhir’s Crane Management Services (CMS) that since took over the construction of the same.
“We were contacted by management of Kingdom Hotel as people who have experience in real estate management to get on board to develop and manage this asset,but it will be called Kingdom Kampala” Rajiv Ruparelia, the managing director CMS, said after sealing the deal two years ago.
