Popular Tanzanian tycoon cum investor Mohammed Dewji Mo is on Cloud 9 after getting a rare opportunity to host President Yoweri Museveni.
Mohammed, who hosted president Museveni during his time in Tanzania where he had gone for business forum, couldn’t hide his excitement about hosting the visiting head of state.
So, shortly after Museveni left Tanzania for Uganda yesterday, Mohammed took to his tweeter handle and tweeted thus; “I had a wonderful evening with H.E. @KagutaMuseveni in Dar es Salaam along the sidelines of the first ???? Business Forum. I am truly blown away by H.E.’s candor and humility. I have big plans for Uganda and look forward to materializing the projects I have in motion very soon!”
Mohammed “Mo” Gulamabbas Dewji, born 8 May 1975, is a Tanzanian businessman and former politician.
He is owner of MeTL Group, a Tanzanian conglomerate founded by his father in the 1970s.
Dewji served as Member of the Tanzanian Parliament for Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) from 2005 to 2015 for his home town of Singida.
As of October 2018, Dewji had an estimated net worth of USD1.5Bn, therefore positioning him as the 17th richest person in Africa and the continent’s youngest billionaire. Dewji is also the first Tanzanian to cover Forbes Magazine in 2013.
