Ntoroko, Uganda: The police in western Uganda are hunting for assailants who shot dead a secondary school teacher in Bundibugyo district on Friday night.
Vincent Biyara, a teacher at Burambagira Secondary School and Kabango Secondary School in Ngamba Sub County Bundibugyo district, was shot dead by unknown gunmen who attacked him at his home in Ibanda Cell, Kaghorwe Cell on Karugutu Town Council, Ntoroko district. Lydia Tumushabe, the Rwenzori West Region Police Spokesperson, said that the police have started investigating the murder vide case file number SD Ref 33/25/01/2019 of BUndibugyo police. According to Biyara’s friend Atanazio Isande, unknown people raided the deceased’s home at around 10:00pm on Friday and shot only him dead, leaving his three other family members alive, before they fled. Isande said that “Biyara’s wife operates a mobile money outlet but the shooters didn’t demand for any money. They just shot him dead and fled.”
Tumushabe revealed that the police appeals to residents who might have information to help investigations or lead to the arrest of the killers to approach the detectives quietly and that their information shall be treated with utmost confidentiality.
