Mbarara City 2-1 SC Villa

MBARARA: Moses Basena and his troops were dealt to yet another huge blow when Mbarara City handed them their 3rd loss of the season.

A goal from captain Asuman Alishe and Paul Mucurezi’s 75th minute strike were the catalyst for Basena’s woes.

The Ankle lions were forced into an early substitution in the 4th minute with Sam Kansiime coming on for Ivan Eyam who left the pitch limping.

Skipper Asuman Alishe headed home in the 2 added minutes of the first half to put Mbarara City in the lead through a well taken corner from Paul Mucurezi.

Bashir Mutanda levelled matters in the 62nd minute through a long range shot outside the eighteen yard box.

8 minutes later, Mutanda nearly put his side in the lead only to see his header go a few inches wide.

Mucurezi sealed the game in the 75th minute from a good cross from Ibrahim Orit past helpless Brian Bwete.

SC Villa and Maroons remain the only teams yet to win any game from the six so far played.

Maximum points take Mbarara City to 7th with 10 points leaving Villa in the drop with 3 points from 6 games.
