Tooro, Lango Provinces Advance To Semi-finals Of FUFA Drum

Tooro Province put up a spirited second leg to overcome Teso 2-0 at Kichwamba Technical ground, Fort Portal. The first leg in Soroti had ended 2-1 in favour of Teso which means Tooro progressed to the semi-finals of FUFA Drum 3-2 on aggregate.
Elsewhere, Lango Province also made it to the Semifinals after eliminating Bugisu 3-1 on aggregate. Lango overturned a 1-0 deficit they suffered in the first leg in Bugisu.
Sunday’s encounter at the Akiibua Memorial stadium saw the hosts win 3-0 thanks to the goals from the KCCA star Allan Okello who opened the score from the spot in the 31st minute. Other goals were scored by Rogers Mato in towards the break and Denis Omedi sealed the victory just six minutes into the second half.
Some of the most outstanding events in that match were the stadium was filled to the bream with some fans climbing the towers.
The FUFA president Moses Magogo was present and he handed over an award to James Okabo who hails from Barr Sub-County in Lira District for being a passionate fan of football.
James is one of the two people who were recognised by the 98th General Assembly yesterday.
