The main saga of the window is the battle to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez. Manchester United are expected to sign him, but Arsenal want £10m plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Arsenal are also readying a huge offer of £35million plus Olivier Giroud for Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and there could yet be more action at the Emirates with the Gunners battling Tottenham for Malcom.
Elsewhere, Chelsea were hoping to complete a shock move for West Ham striker Andy Carroll, having already completed a £15m deal for Ross Barkley, but Chelsea want a stunning double move for Roma duo Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, while Peter Crouch also of interest.
So far, Barcelona have completed the signing of Philippe Coutinho for a whopping £146m after Liverpool made a huge, early move of their own with the £75m signing of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
Burnley have agreed a deal with Everton to sign winger Aaron Lennon for an undisclosed fee.
The 30-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at Goodison Park following the arrival of Theo Walcott, still needs to have a medical, but personal terms have been agreed.
Lennon joined Everton from Tottenham in 2015 and has scored seven goals in 63 appearances.
The former England international has played 19 games this season.
The second half of the 2016-17 campaign was disrupted for Lennon after he was detained by police in May under the Mental Health Act over concerns for his welfare.
Speaking shortly after returning for pre-season training in July, he said he had received “incredible” support from “Everton, Spurs, their fans, football fans and concerned members of the general public”.
He has provided two assists in the 19 appearances he has made for the Toffees in all competitions this term.
Brighton have broken their transfer record to sign striker Jurgen Locadia from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
The Premier League side have reportedly paid a fee of about £14m for the 24-year-old Dutchman, who has scored nine goals in 15 games for PSV this season.
Locadia, who has spent his whole career with PSV, passed a medical today before signing a contract until June 2022.
Manager Chris Hughton said: “We are delighted to have signed Jurgen and pleased to welcome him to the club.”
Brighton’s previous transfer record was £13.5m, which they paid Belgian side Club Brugge to sign Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo last August.
Locadia helped PSV win the Dutch Eredivisie league title in 2015 and 2016, and has appeared in the Champions League.
Hughton added: “He is a player we have been aware of for sometime and it’s been no secret we have wanted to add a striker of his type.”
“He is a strong, powerful and quick centre-forward with a real eye for goal, and will increase our attacking options in the second half of the season.”
Only bottom club Swansea have scored fewer goals than Brighton, who are fifth-bottom in their first season in the Premier League having scored 17 goals from 23 games.
Locadia, who will wear the number 25 shirt for Albion, has represented the Netherlands at all levels from under-17s to under-21s and despite being called up to the senior squad, he is yet to win his first cap.
He scored a hat-trick on his league debut, as an 18-year-old substitute in a 6-0 win over VVV-Venlo in 2012-13, and leaves PSV with a total of 45 goals from 82 Eredivisie starts, plus 45 substitute appearances.
“Jurgen already has a prolific goal record with PSV in the Dutch top division and it is one we hope he can continue here with us in the Premier League,” said Hughton.
Griezmann agrees to join Barcelona
Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked to Premier League clubs including Manchester United
Barcelona and Antoine Griezmann have reached an agreement over a deal that will see the striker move to Camp Nou at the end of the season.
The Atletico Madrid star has been heavily linked to Premier League clubs, but the Catalan side have managed to lure him to partner Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele up front.
The Spanish outlet says Griezmann has struck a deal with Barca that will see either party face a financial penalty should they back out before the move is complete
