The angry supporters led by Sheema district NRM publicity secretary Orisiima Milton aka Kayaman, revealed that the chaotic elections were not free and fair since they had some invisible hands from State House mentioning particularly first family and noted that on behalf of Sheema NRM diehards, they will not support Dickson Kateshumbwa whom they accuse of not only vote-rigging but also being a famous FDC agent.
The demonstrators who were carrying posters accused President Museveni, first son Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Gen Salim Saleh of being behind Kateshumbwa’s victory as he allegedly claims, appealed to the party chairman Museveni to come out openly and tell the public whether Kateshumwa’s allegations are factual.

“We appeal to President Museveni to tell us whether he’s the one who sent to us this mafia Kateshumbwa to stand in Sheema municipality as he claims to say that first son Gen. Kainerugaba Muhoozi and Gen. Salim Saleh are among his diehards campaigning for him.” Elioda’s supporter who preferred anonymity said.
“In Sheema we are in a panic mode because in one of your presidential addresses on Covid-19, you said that you cleaned the URA by ousting thieves out of their offices and among these we know Kateshumbwa was among them and therefore we wonder how you could endorse such a thief to us as our MP” another supporter asked.

However, the NRM registrar in Sheema district, Franklin Ahimbisiibwe trashed all the allegations made by Elioda’s camp and further revealed that Kateshumbwa is the genuine winner for Sheema Municipality NRM flag bearer, adding that as the party’s commission, they never took any bribe from any candidate as it was alleged by the demonstrators.
On the issue of unlawful demonstration that has since left many residents of Sheema at risk of getting Covid-19, Sheema Central Police Station (CPS) operations officer ASP Akarivenyuma Levi revealed that they were not aware of this unlawful act, adding that they have started investigations to arrest the ring leaders that were behind this move.
”We have initiated investigations to know all those that were behind this demonstration, and I caution those alleging that police had some interests in that election to stop it because police only keep law and order but not playing politics” Asp Levi warned.
These demonstrations follow Minister Elioda’s petition challenging his rival’s victory, a case allegedly to be heard and ruled on Wednesday of next week.
