A pilot and the co-pilot have died in a plane crash in Marsabit Town in Kenya, around Kofia Mbaya area.
The plane was reportedly ferrying Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) exam papers.
The unfortunate incident happened in the morning hours of Saturday, March 20.

Confirming the incident, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director-General Gilbert Kibe said in a statement, “Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) hereby confirms that an aircraft accident occurred this morning in the Marsabit Area.
The Aircraft, registration number 5Y-JKN, departed Nairobi Wilson Airport at 8:20am with two people on board and crashed into a hill at approximately 10:10am. Unfortunately, there were no survivors.

Kenya police and other security agencies are on site. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) has been informed and investigation as to the cause of the accident has begun.”
Armistice Security Consult International (ASCI) on Saturday morning stated on its Facebook page: “Situation Alert: Plane crash, flight No:5YJKN, location, Marsabit, Mlima Kofia Mbaya….. Two confirmed dead, the plane was ferrying KNEC Exams.”
