Two Perish, Scores Injured In Buloba Accident

Buloba: A deadly accident that happened Monday morning at Kiweesi village in Buloba, Wakiso district, along the Mityana-Kampala Road, has claimed two people and left at least six nursing grave injuries.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, says the accident occurred when the driver of a Toyota Hiace van registration number UBS665H tried to overtake a Raum  but ended up ramming into a speeding trailer registration number UAY 632J. Owoyesigyire identifies the deceased as Godfrey Ndaula, the Hiace driver and his co-driver Ssempala. Six of the injured have been identified as Gerald Mulindwa, Oliva Nantambi, Margret Nakanjako, Jackie Nakalema, Namutebi and Samuel.

Police says the truck driver escaped from the accident scene and is still at large. The police are however still conducting investigations into the tragedy  to determine the charges to be levied against the truck driver when he is apprehended.
