Dr.Sudhir Ruparelia’s Victoria University located on Jinja Road, Kampala has offered scholarship to all the 25 Miss Curvy contestants ahead of the grand finale to Friday April 26, 2019
According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Krishma N.Sharma, the university is set to offer a full scholarship to the winner and 70% scholarships to the other 24 finalists.
He said that this is intended promote the career growth and equality in communities by supporting talented students to acquire the necessary academic qualifications that would help them navigate and connect with the rest world much easier.
“We are ready to admit and impart knowledge and skills to these miss curvy contestants in order to promote career growth and equality and also to contribute to the country’s development,” Mr Sharma said. The scholarships caters for Diplomas, Bachelors and Masters.
The University administration also disclosed they would offer the 25 bummy ladies free short courses in public speaking and presentation to improve their self-esteem.
“We are giving them free short courses in public speaking and presentation so that they may effectively share the message about self-esteem to the young girls who look up to them,” Mr Sharma said.
The organizer of Miss curvy contest, Ms Annie Mungoma commended the University for ensuring that all the contestants are skilled and acquire more skills for the future.
“We appreciate all the institutions that have come up with a cause of ensuring that the contestants acquire new knowledge in different fields, this will enhance their career growth and have something to hope for in future,” Ms Nyangoma said.
