The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has invited all online data communication service providers, online television and radio stations, and online news media agencies to a sensitization meeting aimed at strengthening compliance and promoting fair practices within the communications sector.

The stakeholder engagement is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Kampala Skyz Hotel. The Commission says this initiative aims at ensuring that operators deliver quality services and adhere to regulatory standards in line with the Uganda Communications Act, Cap 103, along with other relevant regulations governing the sector.

According to Susan A. Wegoye, who issued the invitation on behalf of the Commission, the engagement seeks to address compliance challenges, clarify legal requirements, and foster innovation, inclusion, and fair competition within the online communications space. It also aims to ensure that online platforms provide relevant and appropriate content to Ugandan audiences.

The Commission emphasized that the meeting will serve as a platform for discussing the responsibilities of service providers and for addressing any concerns that stakeholders may have regarding regulations and enforcement practices.
