Uganda Airlines Buys New CRJ 900 Bombardier Planes As Entebbe Airport Develops Huge Cracks

Entebbe: Newly revived Uganda Airlines is set to receive two new Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft.

Spy Uganda has learnt that a team comprising of officials from Uganda Airlines, ministry of Works and transport and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is already in Montreal, Canada to finalise delivery of the planes, which are set to arrive in Uganda on Monday October 8, 2019.

However, the aircraft come at a time when the runway at Entebbe International Airport is full of cracks, something that is worrying aviation experts about the ability of the facility to continue operating without hiccups in the near future.


When the new aircraft arrive, they will increase Uganda Airlines fleet to four planes, in addition to the first two that arrived in Uganda a few months back. 


However, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is yet to issue a statement about the situation of Entebbe International Airport and whether its deteriorating status will affect operations or not.
