The new route will operate four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, offering travelers a direct connection between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

Strengthening Uganda’s Aviation Industry

This development is expected to boost trade, tourism, and business ties between Uganda and the UK by providing a faster and more convenient travel option. Previously, passengers traveling between the two destinations had to rely on connecting flights through other hubs such as Amsterdam, Doha, or Dubai.

The Uganda Airlines Airbus A330-800neo will operate the route, offering both business and economy class options with modern in-flight services.

Speaking about the new route, Uganda Airlines CEO, Jenifer Bamuturaki, expressed optimism that the direct flights will strengthen Uganda’s global connectivity.

“We are excited to offer travelers a direct link between Entebbe and London, one of the most in-demand routes for Ugandans and international visitors. This will enhance convenience, save time, and support Uganda’s tourism and business sectors.”

Boost for Tourism and Business

The direct flights come as a relief for Ugandans in the diaspora, business travelers, and tourists who frequently travel between the UK and Uganda. The UK is one of Uganda’s top tourism source markets, and this new connection is expected to increase visitor arrivals to the country’s national parks and cultural sites.

Additionally, the new route will facilitate trade and exports, particularly for Uganda’s fresh produce, coffee, flowers, and fish—key exports to the UK market.

With competitive pricing and the convenience of non-stop travel, Uganda Airlines hopes to attract a large share of passengers on this route, further cementing its position in the regional and international aviation industry.

Booking and Ticketing

Tickets for the EBB-LGW flights are already available for booking via Uganda Airlines’ official website, travel agencies, and airline offices. Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure the best fares.

This expansion aligns with Uganda Airlines’ broader strategy to increase its footprint on long-haul routes, with future plans to explore additional destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
