The final of the 48th Stanbic Uganda Cup edition will be between current holders Vipers SC and BUL FC. This follows the successful completion of the semifinal contests on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Vipers SC overcame Mbarara City FC while BUL FC eliminated Booma FC to set up a repeat of last season’s final.
The aforementioned teams faced off in the 2020/21 final at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru with Vipers thrashing BUL 8-0.
Despite Booma FC marching BUL FC for the entire game at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe Karim Ndugwa’s half goal gave the latter Victory to cruise to the final.
The veteran forward headed home Ivan Wani’s cross to settle the return leg contest and ensure the Jinja-based outfit returned to the final.
The goal took his tally to seven in the Cup this season and leads the scoring chart heading into the final slated for 12th June 2022 at Masindi Stadium.
BUL FC, therefore, advanced 6-1 on aggregate, having won the first leg fixture 5-1 in Masindi.
In the other semifinal contest, Vipers won the reverse fixture against Mbarara City 4-0 to also reach the final 6-1 on aggregate.
