Uganda Police To Deploy More Police Officers In Somalia

Kampala: The Uganda government has finalized a move to deploy more Uganda Police Officers and men in Somalia, under the Africa peace keeping mission (AMISOM).

SpyUganda has established from credible sources that the Formed Police Assessment Team have camped at Kabalye Police Training School to assess how prepared Uganda Police personnel that are due for deployment in Somalia are. The officers that are being assessed have been undergoing a one year training course in Peace Keeping. They are to be deployed in Somalia (AMISOM) by the end of July 2019. (www.ewea.org)

Assessment started on June 19, 2019 and ends on June 23, 2019, whereby Police Officers are tested in different areas like driving, report writing, public order management, operational maneuvers and marksmanship. This is Formed Police Unit 8. The team is supposed to select only 160 Police Officers to make a contingent. The team was accompanied by SCP Benjamin Namanya, the Deputy Director Peace and Support of Uganda Police Force.
