Uganda Records 9 New Cases Of COVID-19, Number Of Infections Stands At 741

The number of cumulative confirmed Coronavirus cases in Uganda currently stand at 741, after the Ministry of Health announced on  Thursday that 9 new cases had been recorded from samples tested on Wednesday June 17th, 2020.

A  statement  released by the Ministry indicates that  Four (4)  of the new cases were among 1,554 samples tested from Points of Entry, while Five (5) cases were among 1,148 samples of alerts and contacts. All confirmed cases are Ugandans.

The Ministry also revealed that Four (4) of the confirmed cases are truck drivers; two (2) arrived from Kenya via Malaba Point of Entry, while two (2) ariived from South Sudan Via Elegu and Ngoromo Points of Entry respectively.

Five (5) of the confirmed cases are alerts and contacts from previously confirmed cases. They include 3 from Kyotera and 2 from Amuru Districts. (Zolpidem Tartrate)

Statement from Ministry of Health about the new COVID-19 cases in Uganda

Currently, Uganda has registered a total of 442 COVID-19 recoveries and not registered any COVID-19 related death.

Meanwhile, the State Minister for Health Dr Joyce  Moriku Kaducu on Wednesday revealed that she had presided over the discharge of 11 people from Soroti Hospital who had  positively responded to COVID-19 treatment.   

 Minister Kaducu tweeted that; “I have witnessed the discharge of 11 people that have recovered from Covid-19 at  @SorotiHospital  in Teso Sub region. I thank the medical team and Soroti District Covid19 Task force for the job well done.”
