We’re Tired Of Freebies! Uganda’s 1st Ever Procured COVID-19 Vaccine Consign Arrives Tonight At 2200Hrs!

Kampala: According to our sources, the government of Uganda has made its first-ever procurement of the COVID-19 vaccine since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020.

TheSpy Uganda has learnt that through the COVAX facility, the government purchased 18 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine for 9 million people noting that this is administered in form of two doses per person.

Not only the above but also government through the African Union’s African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) initiative also purchased 9 million doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccine for 9 million people which is administered with one dose per person.

Meanwhile, this website has also learnt that the consignment of the above vaccines will arrive in Uganda via Entebbe Airport at 22:00pm.

The development comes at a time when the country’s daily COVID-19 cases have drastically declined. For instance, the Ministry of Health has announced that results of COVID-19 tests done on 05 October 2021 confirmed 64 new cases bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 124,254.

The breakdown of the new cases is: 63 Alerts And Contacts; Kumi (10), Oyam (8), Adjumani (6), Kampala (6), Kabarole (7), Lamwo (5), Isingiro (3), Mbarara (3), Yumbe (2), Koboko (2), Mbale (1), Amudat (1), Pader (1), Kasese (1), Wakiso (4), Amuru (3) 1 Truck driver from Amuru.
