Uganda’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 1051 With 1014 Recoveries

Kampala: Uganda’s cumulative confirmed cases have reached 1,051 after the Ministry of Health confirmed 8 new COVID-19 cases from samples tested yesterday 15th, July 2020.

Of the eight (8) confirmed cases; two (2) are alerts from Kampala and Kagadi district (5) are contacts that include three (3) from Amuru and two (2) from Lamwo districts.

Regarding the returnees, one (1) Indian a resident of Uganda tested positive and was in quarantine at the time of testing.

In the same vein,Ten (10) foreign truck drivers that include 8 Kenyans and 2 Tanzanians tested positive for COVID-19 at the border entry points and their entry into the country was not permitted.

Uganda so far has 194 total active cases on admission that includes 173 who are Ugandans, 18 who are foreigners, 3 refugees with 1,014 total number of recoveries that include both Ugandans and non-Ugandans.

Total number of COVID-19 samples tested yesterday at boarder points were 1,497 out of 2,405 total samples tested in the whole day while 235,013 are total samples tested since the outbreak of the pandemic.
