Uganda’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 1065 As 12 Truckers Test Positive

Kampala: The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,065 after Ministry Of Health confirmed new three cases from tests done on 18 July 2020.

Among the new infections include one (1) truck driver who arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula point of entry, one (1) returnee from South Sudan and one (1) contact from Gulu District.

However 12 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.

As of yesterday 18th, July 2020, Uganda had 136 active cases on admission that included 115 Ugandans,19 foreigners, and 2 refugees.

Samples tested from points of entry were 1,771 while 1,274 samples were from alerts and contacts making 3,045 total samples tested the whole day.
