Kampala: The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,182 after Ministry of Health confirmed 6 new cases out of tests done on 1st, 08 2020.
Among the new infections include 2 truck drivers who arrived via Malaba, 3 returnees including 2 who arrived from Somalia,1 from Saudi Arabia, 1 alert from Nakaseke.

Meanwhile 5 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the borders and their entry into the country was not permitted.
The ministry yesterday tested 1,603 samples from points of entry,1,304 samples from alerts and contacts making 2,907 total samples tested the whole day.
These come at a time when the death toll in Latin America from the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has surpassed 200,000, after Peru reported another 191 deaths from the pandemic early on Sunday.
South Africa has surpassed 500,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, representing more than 50 percent of all reported Coronavirus infections in Africa’s 54 countries. It also reported more than 8,000 deaths.
More than 17.79 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the new Coronavirus. Almost 10.5 million patients have recovered and more than 684,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
