Uganda’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 126 As Four Truck Drivers Test Positive

Officials from the Ministry Of Health announced on Tuesday May, 12, 2020 that they had registered four new Coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases out of 1478 samples from truck drivers, thereby bringing the number of total infections to 126.

According to  a statement by the Health Ministry posted on their Twitter handle, ‘the new cases are two Ugandan truck drivers, One Kenyan who arrived via Elegu and One Tanzanian who arrived via Mutukula border.’

The ministry added that ‘Currently Uganda has one hundred twenty six (126) total number of COVID-19 cases.’

It further said all two hundred thirty three (233) community samples have tested negative for COVID-19.

However, yesterday, 1,711 total samples were tested and the total number of recovered cases in the country stands at 56 with no single death recorded yet.

As we report the world has 4.26M COVID-19 Confirmed cases, 1.49M recovered cases, and 292K Deaths.
