Uganda’s COVID-19 Cases Shoot To 1062 As 26 Truckers Test Positive

Kampala: The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,062 after Ministry of health confirmed 6 new cases.

Among the new cases include 1 alert from Buikwe District and 5 returnees who were under quarantine at the time of test. 

Others are 4 returnees from South Africa and 1 Indian, a resident of Uganda returned from India 

However 26 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted

As of yesterday 17th,July 2020, Uganda has 169 active cases on admission, 145 Ugandans on admission.

On addition Uganda has 22 foreigners and 2 refugees on admission.

Mean while Uganda has 1, 048 total Recoveries that Includes both Ugandans and Foreigners.

Samples from points of entry tested yesterday were 2,748 on addition of 948 samples from alerts and contacts making 3696 total samples tested.
