Information coming in from the Ministry of Health indicates that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has since risen to 724, up from 705… on Monday.

According to the Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, results from 2,212 samples tested on 15 June 2020 confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed COVID-19 cases to 724.
She revealed that 6 of the new cases are truck drivers from Elegu and Malaba while 13 are among contacts and alerts, while the total COVID-19 recoveries stand at: 351


Additionally, tenty-five (25) foreign truck drivers (13 Kenyans, 9 Tanzanians, 2 Burundians and 1 Congolese) tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed over to their respective country of origin.

It should be noted that to date, Uganda has not yet registered any confirmed COVID-19 death.

Meanwhile, this comes a day after the Ministry of Health discharged 40 people from Entebbe Grade B where they had been undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
The 40 were discharged after the all tested negative for the killer virus following several days of undergoing medication.
