Mukono: As part of their social corporate responsibility, Uganda’s power distributor Umeme Ltd has donated tanks to pupils of Bishop’s West Boarding Primary School, in Mukono district, which will help them harvest clean and safe rainwater.
SpyUganda can authoritatively reveal that as you read this, all Pupils and staff of Bishop’s West Boarding Primary School have reason to smile after Umeme Limited gifted their school with water tanks that have capacity of harvesting 18, 000 liters and store it safely for use. The gesture was part of Umeme’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) undertaken by the Umeme Mukono office. The handover was done with the guest of Honor, Mukono Diocesan Bishop James Williams Ssebagala, and coordinated by an active Umeme Safety club of pupils in the same school. The school was identified due to the challenge its pupils faced fetching water from distant resources; noting that the school houses and educates a number of special needs pupils. #PoweringLives
