The Gunners were moments away from defeat against the Saints before Alexandre Lacazette’s last-gasp equaliser salvaged a point.

But the head of football Sanllehi and technical director Edu were still concerned enough to head down from the stands to track Emery down in the tunnel moments after the game, they were keen to discuss what had gone wrong against the struggling south coast side as Arsenal’s winless Premier League run extended to six games.

Pressure is growing on Emery with the club eighth in the Premier League table and potential successors already being discussed.

Reports suggest players are losing faith with Emery and the Spaniard is fighting to save his job as club bosses also become concerned.

Board members were said to look furious as they were spotted leaving the dressing room after the game having held talks with Emery.

Former player Mikel Arteta has been linked with a return in the hotseat having been considered for the role before Emery was appointed.

Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked after his Tottenhamsacking, as has former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.

But Emery insisted after the game he was still being backed by the club as he loks to turn things around.

“The club are supporting me every day and also I have a responsibility,” said the Spaniard after the game.

“I know I can do better, I can take more performances with the players and I’m going to try to do that. Now my job is to analyse, to try to move on with confidence with the players.

“It’s difficult but we need to move on in the next days. After analysing that match we are going to play at home again on Thursday, prepare as well as possible, “We know, and I know, that we need to connect with our supporters. (https://bluffsrehab.com/) ”
