Express football club secured the three points comfortably through Wakiso Giants on Friday at Wankulukuku stadium in the Star-Times Uganda Premier league encounter that ended 3-0 to put the red eagles back to second place.

George Ssenkaaba tapped home in the 6th-minute from a beautiful cross courtesy of Erick Kambale to make it 1-0 for the Red Eagles.
Charles Musiige made a messy run from the midfield and slotted home to double the lead for Express. This was also his maiden goal for the club.
Talismans Godfrey Lwesibawa netted the red eagles’ third from a brilliant free-kick eight minutes into the second half to seal the 3-0 victory for the hosts.

Express made five substitutes in the game bringing on Muzamiru Mutyaba and Ibrahim Kayiwa for Abel Etrude and Godfrey Lwesibawa in the 63rd minute before making another double substitution to introduce Frank Kalanda and Faisal Ssekyanzi for George Ssenkaaba and Charles Musiige respectively in the 71st minute.
Before the game, the club chairman Kiwanuka Kiryowa had called on the Red Eagles to focus on fighting to win the Star Times Uganda Premier League this season.
Speaking during a luncheon hosted for the team to celebrate their good start in the league at the Lake Victoria Serena Hotel in Kiigo on Thursday, Kiwanuka said the team was doing well but it wasn’t the right time to take the foot off the pedal.

The Red Eagles have started the season on a high note and are currently sitting third on the 16-team table with 19 points from nine matches, and are among the three unbeaten sides in the top-tier.
Therefore after this game, only two teams remain unbeaten which are Express itself and defending Champions Vipers SC.

Elsewhere, MYDA suffered a 4-1 defeat to BUL FC at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru courtesy of goals scored by Musa Esenu 14th minute, Peter Okech 84th minute, Anwar Ntege 87th, and finally Joseph Ssemuju in the added minutes.
Meanwhile, Moses Batali had scored the only goal for the visitors in the 44th minute to end the game 4-1 in favor of the hosts.
