Kampala: George Senkaaba’s 47th minute goal secured the three points for the red eagles on Saturday, 19th December 2020, at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku.

After a goalless first half both teams came with one mind of attacking but Ssenkaaba netted just two minutes into the second half.

The former Villa striker’s goal and victory for the red eagles is a perfect Christmas gift for the Express fans and the club’s Communications Manager, Pate Tabu, who was celebrating his birthday yesterday.

Last season Villa beat the red eagles home and away which make Express’ victory a great payback.

The red eagles came into this game having managed only three win against Villa in their last 12 meetings with Villa managing six victories and three draws.

Express FC coach Wasswa Bbosa had warned his players to not look down on the Joggos who had defeated KCCA in their last match.

The two clubs remain the two Giants of Ugandan football sharing 22 league titles and their meeting is always with too much heat and rivalry and now the fact that the current coach of Express managed both clubs was another important fact of the game.

The derby win places Express FC in the 5th position on the table standings of StarTimes Uganda Premier league with eight (8) points from four games and remain the only unbeaten team so far this season.
