KCCA FC proved their supremacy against the Star Times Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC in a game which usually settles the rivalry. The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Kasasiro boys at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.
Roger Mato’s first half goal was enough to separate the two Giants and a very tight encounter ending the celebrations at Kitende following Vipers qualification into the ground stages of CAF Champions League early this week where they eliminated the five times champions TP Mazembe in a penalty shootouts.
Mato nodded home Allan Okello’s beautiful cross in as early as the fifth minutes the rest was both sides trying to convert chances but in vain. The Kasasiro boys goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan has now gone 450 minutes with conceding any goal.
Victory puts Morley Byekwaso’s team in the fourth position on the table with six point in three while Vipers seats 13th on the log with only one point in two. BUL FC continue to lead the log with ten points from four matches.
The Star Times Uganda Premier League returns on Tuesday with Gaddafi hosting table leaders BUL FC while UPDF will lock horns with Wakiso Giants.
