KCCA FC found redemption with a 4-1 comfortable win against newly promoted Bukedea side Blacks Power on 5th November 2022 in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium.
The Kasasiro boys who had lost 1-0 to the Luzira based Maroons a week ago came into the match with a must win mentality therefore putting up undeniably brilliant performance.
Rogers Mato and Allan Okello were too much for Maroons with each scoring a brace to give KCCA a well deserved victory.
Mato broke the deadlock for the hosts just six minutes into the second half following a goalless first stanza and all the praise was to Okello’s brilliant assist.
Four minutes later, Mato returned the favor assisting Okello to double the lead for Morley Byekwaso’s boys. Okello thumped in a powerful strike from outside the box with his right foot.
The two skippers kept up the pressure on the Blacks Power defence and not so long they conceded a penalty when Mato was brought down in the area in the 64th minute. Okello slotted home perfectly to give his side a 3-0 lead and at this point the opponent looked so lost.
Blacks Power found a consolation four minutes later through Bronson Nsubuga thanks to talisman Michael Siwu’s beautiful assist before Mato completed his brace in the stoppage time and 4-1 it ended in favour of the Kasasiro boys. Allan Okello was named pilsner man of the match.
Elsewhere, SC Villa edged Solitlo Bright Stars 1-0 away from home thanks to Charles Bbaale’s 50th minute goal that separated the two sides. The Joggos’ Fred Gift was named pilsner man of the match.
