The defending champions Vipers SC humiliated MYDA football club with a 7-0 thriller at St Mary’s Kitende on Saturday 6th February 2021 in one of the two Star Times Uganda Premier games in hand.
The Venoms came into this game with seven points from three games and very hungry for goals and the new signing Yunus Ssentamu found the back of the net in just ten minutes into the game with a brilliant acrobat kick.
He doubled the hosts lead in the 28th minute having been denied in the 15th minute by MYDA goalkeeper Isaac Osikou.
The Kitende based side kept on pressing and piling on the pressure and deadly attacks with Ssentamu proving more hungry and lethal for goals and in the 38th minute, Cesar Manzoki headed in a brilliantly in the bottom corner to make it 3-0 for the hosts.
Former Mbarara City golden boy Paul Mucurezi netted the venom’s fourth towards the break before he tapped in his second and Viper’s fifth courtesy of a beautiful cross from Manzoki just fourteen minutes into the second half.
Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba made a double substitution for the Venoms introducing on Ibrahim Orit and Lawrence Tezikya for Paul Mucurezi and Yunus Ssentamu in the 61st minute before Allan Kayiwa was subbed off for Denis Mwemezi three minutes later, the hosts third substitution.
Kajoba made another double substitution in the 76th minute bringing off Manzoki and Siraje Ssentamu for Abraham Ndugwa and Musa Ssaali.
Disan Galiwango netted his first goal at the club and Viper’s sixth of the day in the 84th minute before Substitute Ibrahim Orit smashed home the seventh heaven five minutes later to seal the score 7-0.
Vipers now stand 3rd on the table with just two points behind table leaders UPDF FC and one point behind URA. A win away to Express on Tuesday 9th February 2021 will put the Venoms at the top of the table with 13 points.
