Uganda Revenue Authority FC was knocked out of the CAF Confederation following a 1-0 loss away to Egyptian side Al Masry at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday.

Islam Salem Attiya’s goal in the 21st-minute screamer that left the tax collectors goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi beaten was enough to help the hosts advance to the next stage.

Efforts by URA to find the equalizer and possible winner ended on a sour footing as captain Shafik Kuchi Kagimu, Steven Desse Mukwala, Saidi Kyeyune and Cromwel Rwothomio all missed different chances.

Meanwhile, the tax collectors finished the game with a man less after a second bookable offense to defender Najib Fesali on the stroke of full time. Najib had been booked in the first half.

URA introduced Davis Ssali, Moses Sseruyidde but the changes didn’t help the Ugandan outfit to get the equalizer ending their continental journey.

Al Masry progressed on aggregate 1-0 since the first leg at St Mary’s Kitende had ended in a goalless stalemate.

Skipper Shafiq Kagimu, Saidi Kyeyune, Steven Mukwala and Comwell Rwothomio who missed the first leg started in the return leg.

The URA delegation is expected to return home as soon as possible and embark on the Uganda Premier League that enters matchday three this coming week.
