Yunus Ssentamu continued to shine and lifting the defending Champions Vipers on Tuesday in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League in an encounter against BUL at St Mary’s Kitende.

Ssentamu scored the only goal of the game in the 84th minute, thanks to a beautiful delivery from Paul Mucurezi to keep the table leaders in the driving seat of the sixteen clubs log.

The super striker who returned to the club in the January transfer window has now scored six goals since rejoining the Kitende based side.

The Venoms have now collected 21points from 9 matches played so far and are top of the table with two points ahead of on-form Express FC.

In other Star-Times Uganda Premier League matches played, Express FC secured all three points away to MYDA at King George IV memorial stadium Toronto with a formidable 4-1 win to close the gap to the top.

George Ssenkaaba broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute to put the red eagles in the lead before Godfrey Lwesibawa doubled the lead for the visitors in the 58th minute. Two minutes later, Ssenkaaba notched his second and the red eagles’ third, and Lwesibawa closed the chapter with the fourth in the 80th minute before Erick Mutebi netted the consolation for the hosts to end it 4-1 in favor of the visitors.

Wasswa Bbosa’s boys are now second on the table with 19points collected from 9 games and also still unbeaten this season. The red eagles have also scored 8 goals in their last two games and also have secured three consecutive away wins.

Meanwhile, as earlier feared by KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi, the Kasasiro boys struggled to pick up a point away from stubborn Wakiso Giants.

Andrew Kigozi netted a 40th-minute rocket to put the visitors in the lead before the determined purple sharks leveled matters through Ssenfuka from the penalty spot before the break.

Kigozi had come in for Brian Aheebwa in the thirteenth minute who picked up an anticipate bad injury and was pulled off on a stretcher. At the end of the ninety, the two sides settled for a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, SC Villa’s winless streak against Busoga United in Jinja continued after a 1-1 draw at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Villa have now gone five games against Busoga United in Jinja having drawn four times and lost one. Douglas Muganga netted for the hosts while Isaac Ogwang scored for the Joggos in the 17th minute.

And finally, Kyetume shared spoils with Bright Stars 2-2 at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Janjali Joseph and Samuel Ssekamatte netted for bright stars while Ezra Bida and Yusuf Ssaka Scored for Kyetume.
