Kampala,Uganda: There is a bitter feud raging on between singer Lillian Mbabazi and producer Washington Ebangit, over fallen musician Moze Radio’s songs.
Reports in the entertainment industry reveal that producer Washingtonis involved in a feud with singer Lillian Mbabazi over demo songs that late singer Mowzey Radio left unfinished in studio prior to his death. There are allegations that Washington wanted to sell off the demo tapes and this has forced the fallen singer’s estate managers to intervene. However, Washington claims he owns the demos although Lilian, who is Radio’s widow and has his two orphans, maintains otherwise. She claims the songs belong to Radio’s Angel Music Label and hence are part of his estate.
Lillian came up to confront Washington after learning that he was selling them to local musicians and other producers, who are reproducing Radio’s music and claiming it as their own. The allegations of demo songs being auctioned off came when there were rumours that Spice Diana and King Saha had sampled some of the recordings. It is also claimed that singer King Saha’s trending song titled ‘Biri Biri’ borrows heavily from a demo made by Radio. Lilian, it is said has been engaging Washington to release the demos to the estate but the claim is now protracted. (emmerrealestate.com)
Recently the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Kibuli summoned Douglas Sseguya Mayanja aka Weasel, Godfrey Kyagambimdwa aka Chagga and another to record statements about allegations of plagiarising and selling songs Moze Radio left behind. However, Lillian’s pals contend that she was the CID to summon Producer Washington too, such that he can explain about the songs and demos that late Radio left done at his studio.
