Dfcu bank has replaced Mathias Katamba with William Sekabembe as the interim Chief Executive Officer.
Katamba quit last week after expiry of his contract that was never renewed.
In a notice issued by the bank’s Board Chairman, Jimmy D. Mugerwa, said in the interim, “the Executive Director, William Sekabembe, will act in the position of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.”
Sekabembe who has a banking experience of over 20yrs has in the past worked with several leading financial institutions in Uganda, including as head of products at Stanbic Bank Uganda and head of distribution Barclays Bank Uganda (now Absa Uganda).
He also served as the executive director at Dfcu since 2016.
Sekabembe has extensive knowledge in retail and business banking, credit risk management and product development.
