Wycliffe Tugume alias Ykee Benda had his Maiden ‘Singa’ show sold out on Friday, March 29 at Serena Hotel, Kampala.
The only place you could find the city’s who is who was nowhere else than Serena Hotel.
Among the notable money bags that attended Benda’s maiden show was Rajiv Ruparelia and his beautiful wife, Naiya Ruparelia, whose generosity Ykee Benda publically appreciated on stage with a certificate.
Though the Kireka boy didn’t mention the extent of Naiya’s generosity towards his Friday success,Benda’s close pals intimated to this reporter that the Ruparelias’ contribution towards the event was delivered in several US Dollar notes.
The Mpaka records boss came on the music scene after his club banger ‘Farmer’ with Sheebah Karungi dominated the airwaves.
The self-proclaimed King of Africa delivered a stellar performance that left the horde of revelers in a perk mood with a catalogue of his songs till about 1:30 am.
There were other performances from Spring Gents an Acapella Group, Fefe Busi, Rema Namakula, Jose Sax and Myco Ouma who marveled the guests with their rendition of a Saxophone and a guitar.
Buganda Kingdom Premier Charles Peter Mayiga was the chief guest who thanked Benda for singing good songs that sooth the souls of Kabaka’s subjects.
