The government has suspended the services of Jaguar Bus Company for ten days over their endless accidents including a recent fatal one involving one of its buses that claimed almost a dozen lives.

Founded in 1994, Jaguar Executive Coaches serve more than 10 destinations across Uganda and Rwanda.

According to the Minister of State for Works and Transport, Fred Byamukama, the company will be required to meet all conditions set by the government before it can resume operations.

“We are in a season where schools are reopening, and people are already shopping for Christmas. We can’t risk more lives on our roads,” he said.

Byamukama said that the recent accident could have been avoided, “This was a preventable tragedy caused by sheer recklessness. Such actions endanger the lives of innocent people, and we will not tolerate it.”
